Biography

Matthew Thompson is a highly driven and client-focused litigation associate at Spagnoletti Law Firm with a concentration on maritime and general personal injury. As a graduate of Harvard Law School, Matthew has demonstrated academic success and rigor at one of the nation’s most selective law schools. During his time at Harvard, Matthew gained invaluable experience while serving as a legal intern for the Honorable Roy W. McLeese in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the court of last resort for cases adjudicated within the jurisdiction of the District of Columbia.

Before joining Spagnoletti Law Firm, Matthew practiced corporate law representing various public and private companies in a wide array of corporate transactions. This experience gave Matthew exposure to both the leadership and legal teams of large and small corporations. Such exposure provides Matthew with insight into how companies view and consider risk when making decisions, particularly in the legal realm.

Before attending Harvard Law School, Matthew served as an officer and a pilot in the United States Marine Corps. While deployed with the Marines, Matthew gained experience in situations requiring precise execution while operating in dynamic and uncertain environments. This is quite similar to the type of environment in which many of the clients of Spagnoletti Law Firm work. Matthew continues to serve as a reservist in the Marine Corps and was recently selected to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
