Lawsuit Filed against Phillips 66 on Behalf of Injured Worker

by | Aug 28, 2019 | Firm News, Personal Injury

Spagnoletti Law Firm recently filed suit on behalf of an injured worker who was severely hurt while performing work on behalf of Phillips 66.  At the time of the accident, the Plaintiff was a crew member on a vessel performing clean up work along the Defendant’s pipeline in Louisiana.  As the vessel he was on proceeded to the job site, it struck an obstacle due to the condition of the canal.  The vessel struck a tree in the marsh.  The Plaintiff was injured when  he was violently thrown due to the impact.

The lawsuit alleges the company was negligent by:

(a) failing to provide safe ingress and egress to the jobsite;
(b) failing to adequately maintain the canal;
(c) failing to take reasonable precautions for Plaintiff’s safety;
(d) failing to provide Plaintiff with a reasonably safe place to work;
(e) failing to meet industry standards of care;
(f) failing to develop, implement, and maintain proper safety procedures and protocol;
(g) failing to warn Plaintiff and his crew regarding the dangerous condition;
(h) failing to inspect the route and/or location where the airboat was going; and
(i) failing to properly hire, train, oversee, and supervise employees, agents and/or contractors.

The Plaintiff is represented by Spagnoletti Law Firm attorneys Marcus Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine.
