Spagnoletti Law Firm recently filed suit on behalf of an injured worker who was severely hurt during an explosion on a small boat.  At the time of the accident, the Plaintiff was a crew member on a vessel owned and operated by Defendant Oil Mop LLC (d/b/a OMI Environmental Solutions).  There was an explosion in the vessel’s engine compartment.  The Plaintiff was thrown ten feet in the air as a result of the blast.

The lawsuit alleges OMI was negligent by:

(a) failing to provide proper and adequate equipment to perform the job;
(b) failing to maintain the vessel and her appurtenances and/or equipment in a safe and reasonable state of repair;
(c) failing to take reasonable precautions for Plaintiff’s safety;
(d) failing to provide Plaintiff with a reasonably safe place to work, including failing to provide proper equipment and sufficient crew; and
(e) other acts of negligence and/or omissions to be shown at trial herein.

The Plaintiff is represented by Spagnoletti Law Firm attorneys Marcus Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine.
