Two people were injured the evening of Thursday, August 13, when the vessel they were on exploded in Norwalk Harbor, CT.  The injured passengers were transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, though a woman suffered burns.

At the time of the explosion, six people were on the boat, a 33-foot Egg Harbor Sportfish motor yacht.  Police have reported that the operator of the boat was having issues with the engine and decided it best to turn the boat back. While heading back to the dock an explosion occurred and the boat became engulfed in flames.  It is unclear at this time what caused the explosion.
