Planes Collide in San Marcos, Texas – Three Injured

by | Sep 26, 2020 | Firm News

Two planes collided Thursday night at 7:18 p.m. at the San Marcos Regional Airport.  A spokesman with the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the two planes collided as they both attempted to land at the airport.  One of the planes burst into flames, while the other one flipped over as a result of the collision.  The FAA has identified the two planes as a Cessna 172 and a Team Rockets F1 Experimental aircraft.  The injured individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It is not the first serious accident that has occurred at the airport.  On November 20 2019, one person was killed in a plane crash near the airport.  Robb Stuart Van Eman of West Lake Hills was killed when his Raytheon A-36 Bonanza airplane crashed shortly after takeoff.
