Two people were killed on Friday, following a plane crash near the Van Nuys airport in California. Around 3:00 pm, the single-engine plane crashed in the 7000 block of Hayvenhurst Ave. next to the Van Nuys airport. Upon impact, the plane burst into flames. Witness accounts indicate that the plane had just taken off from the airport, before its engine stalled and the plane nose-dived.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
