A Kansas City Southern train derailed at about 7:30 a.m. in Mauriceville, Texas in Orange County near the border with Louisiana. The train consisted of 25 rail cars. The train tracks run alongside a two lane road in the Southeast Texas county. Two schools and numerous homes were evacuated due to concerns over hazardous material that may have been present on the cars. It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the incident.
