Spagnoletti Law Firm recently filed suit on behalf of two injured maritime workers who were severely hurt while working on the D/B Thor. The vessel was initially docked at Port Fourchon due to the dangerous weather conditions expected during Hurricane Zeta. During the storm, the vessel’s mooring lines broke. As a result, the vessel was adrift during Hurricane Zeta. The uncontrolled barge struck numerous other obstacles, resulting in injuries to the two workers. The lawsuit has been filed against the owner and operator of the vessel, Houston-based Shore Offshore Services, LLC.
The lawsuit alleges Shore Offshore Services was negligent in:
(a) failing to safely secure the vessel to the dock;
(b) failing to safely evaluate weather conditions;
(c) failing to take reasonable precautions for Plaintiffs’ safety;
(d) failing to perform adequate safety meetings and analyses to identify and minimize the risk to Plaintiffs and others;
(e) failing to assess the conditions on board the vessel;
(f) failing to eliminate dangerous conditions on the vessel
The Plaintiffs are represented by Spagnoletti Law Firm attorneys Marcus Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine.
