Three Injured following Fall on Offshore Platform

by | Dec 7, 2020 | Offshore accidents, Wrongful Death

Three workers were injured following a fall on an offshore oil platform off the coast of California on December 2, 2020.   The three workers fell from the platform, falling 30-50 feet.  A fourth worker jumped into the water below to assist the injured workers.  The platform Gilda is located 8.8 miles off the coast.  The platform is owned by DCOR LLC.  The worker who tragically lost his life has been identified as Miguel Aguilera.  At this time it is unclear what caused the fall.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by this tragedy.

Every year numerous workers are injured as a result of a fall on an offshore platform.  The goal for any safe offshore company must be to minimize risks involved in dangerous tasks.  All workers involved in the work must ensure that hazards have been properly analyzed beforehand.  Any time you work at heights, extra precautions must be taken.
