The general cargo ship CANTIKA PERSADA drifted in a nearby vessel and sank on January 30, 2021. At the time, the vessel was loaded with 1600 tons of fertilizer anchored in port in Gresik, Indonesia. The vessel is believed to have dragged its anchor before striking a nearby vessel and suffering water ingress. There were 16 crew members on board the cargo ship at the time. The cargo ship is owned and operated by Indonesia’s Quelju J.

The general cargo ship SAMSUNG NO. 1 suffered water ingress and sank on January 29, 2021 off the southern coast of South Korea. A worker on board a barge owned by Zito Fleeting fell overboard on January 26, 2021.
