Two workers tragically lost their lives on board the FPSO Espoir Ivoirien on January 14, 2021. At the time the vessel was in the Espoir field off the Ivory Coast. The two workers were in tanks on board the vessel when there was a hydrocarbon leak. It is unclear what caused the leak. The vessel is operated by BW Offshore Singapore Pte Ltd, and its registered owner is BW Espoir Ivoirien Pte Ltd.

In early January, there was a fire on the livestock carrier BASHAR ONE TRANSPORT while the vessel was docked at Tuzla Shiprepair Yard, Turkey.
