Pilot Falls while Boarding Bulk Carrier LORD NELSON

A pilot fell while attempting to board the bulk carrier LORD NELSON on March 7, 2021.  At the time, the ship was in the Dardanelles.  The vessel was en route from Ukraine to Portugal.  At this point it is unknown what injuries the pilot sustained.  The vessel is operated and managed by British Bulkers Inc.  The registered owner is British Transports Ltd-MTA.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  The bulk carrier GIULIA I was struck by rough weather on January 26, 2021, resulting in one fatality and multiple injured crew men.  A small recreational boat capsized on January 29, 2021 in Avoyelles Parish, LA, killing one.  A recreational boat capsized on February 2, 2021 in San Augustine County, Texas.  A recreational boat struck a channel marker on February 2, 2021 in Rankin County, Pennsylvania, resulting in one death.  A fire broke out in the engine room of the container ship VERA RAMBOW on February 8, 2021.  A crew member on the Russian cargo ship ATLANTIC PROJECT II tragically lost his life on February 9, 2021, during cargo operations.  A tug boat capsized off the northwest coast of British Columbia, Canada on February 11, 2021.  A recreational boat capsized off the coast of Oregon on February 11, 2021, killing two passengers.  A vessel capsized off the coast of Florida on February 10, 2021. A fire broke out on the ro-ro cargo ship GALLIPOLI SEAWAYS on February 11, 2021.  A fire broke out on the bulk carrier ship PRINCE 4 on February 12, 2021, while the ship was in the Black Sea off the Ukrainian coast. A fire broke out on the offshore supply vessel GREATSHIP ROHINI on February 13, 2021, killing three crew members.  A fire broke out on the fish processing vessel Aleutian Falcon on February 17, 2021.  A mass poisoning occurred on the cargo ship APRIL on February 19, 2021.  A 38 ft. fishing vessel sank on February 20, 2021, in Tillamook Bay, Oregon.  There was an explosion on board the car carrier HELIOS RAY on February 25, 2021.  There was a fire on board the fishing trawler Atlantic Destiny on March 2, 2021.  There was a boating accident in Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana on March 6, 2021, resulting in one death and four passengers sustaining injuries.
