There was an incident on board the LPG tanker HAMBURG DW on April 6, 2021. At the time, the vessel was in the Malacca Strait, off Port Klang, Malaysia en route to Zhanjiang, China. Four crew members on board the vessel were injured when they inhaled ammonia gas. One crew member died on board, and the other three were taken to shore for emergency medical treatment. It is unclear at present what caused the ammonia gas to be released. The vessel is an LPG tanker built in 1993, and owned and operated by Olddorf Shipping Inc.

The container ship MSC TINA struck a pier while in port on March 27, 2021. There was an incident involving the gantry crane on the container ship EVER GENTLE on March 27, 2021. There was a collision between the bulk carrier HABCO PIONEER and a fishing vessel on April 3, 2021.
