A small recreational boat sank in Galveston, Texas on May 21, 2021. At the time, the vessel was west of the Galveston Causeway. The 20-foot vessel sank around 6:30 at night, with five people on board. Three people were rescued by a nearby vessel, while two were missing. Although initial search and rescue operations were conducted by the Coast Guard, those efforts have been called off. It is unclear what caused the vessel to sink.
