Worker Killed on Fieldwood Energy Platform in Gulf of Mexico

A worker was killed on a Fieldwood Energy offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico on May 15, 2021.  The incident involved a contractor performing work on Fieldwood’s Eugene Island 158 #14 platform.  The contractor was involved in operations to perform a casing pressure test on a shut in well.  It is unclear what happened during the incident, but Fieldwood has announced the contractor was killed.  Houston-based Fieldwood Energy operates more than 500 platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
