Chinese Reefer Chang Shun 1 Grounded

by | Sep 12, 2020 | Maritime Law

The reefer vessel Chang Shun 1 was grounded in the Japan Sea on September 12, 2020.  At the time, the vessel suffered an engine failure.  Fourteen crew members were on board, and it is unknown if any sustained injuries.

It can be dangerous to work in any profession when safety considerations are not made.  This is especially so when working on a vessel. Safe maritime companies must perform regular maintenance in order to ensure loss of engine power does not occur.  When ship operators fail to conduct regular maintenance and inspection of the equipment on their vessels, dangerous accidents can happen.
