Fire on Cable Laying Ship

A fire has broken out on board the Korean cable laying ship the RESPONDER on September 11, 2020.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.  60 crew members were on board the vessel at the time of the fire, and all have been evacuated.  It is unknown at this time if any of the crew have sustained injuries or burns.

The RESPONDER is a cable laying vessel built in 2000.  It is owned and operated by the Korean company KT Submarine Co Ltd.
