A party boat on Lake Conroe, Texas capsized late on August 14, 2021. Reports indicate there were 53 people on board the double decker party boat. The vessel, the Lake Conroe Queen, is a double-decker sternwheeler paddleboat. The incident occurred near Regency Point. According to local authorities, storms in the area resulted in 4 to 5 foot waves. Other than the weather conditions, it is unknown at this time what caused this deadly incident. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has identified the deceased victim as Karl Katzenberger. It is unclear how many others on board sustained injuries during this tragic accident.
