There was an explosion on board a vessel in Shelter Island, New York on August 20, 2021. Reports indicate that a boat exploded at the Island Boatyard in West Neck Harbor. The boat exploded shortly after refueling. Four people were on board the vessel at the time of the explosion and resulting fire. It is unclear at present if anyone sustained burns or injuries in the incident.
