Explosion at Propane Plant in North Carolina – 1 Injured

There was an explosion at the James Oxygen & Supply facility located in Hickory, North Carolina on September 3, 2021.  According to reports, there were multiple explosions at the location, with flames shooting 40 feet into the air.  One worker required emergency evacuation to a local hospital for treatment.  It is unclear what caused the explosion at this point in time.

There have been a number of incidents at industrial and processing plants.  There was an explosion at the Hazlehurst Wood Pellets Mill located in Hazlehurst, Georgia on September 2, 2021.  There was a large fire at an industrial recycling and waste facility in Hockley, Texas on August 21, 2021. There was a chemical leak at the LyondellBasell Industries facility in La Porte, Texas on July 27, 2021.  There was a chemical leak at the Dow Chemical Plant in La Porte, Texas on July 21, 2021.  There was a fire at the Olin Epoxy Plant located in Crawford County, Georgia on July 16, 2021.  One person was killed in an explosion at the Calpine Natural Gas Generation Plant in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 18, 2021.There was a fire at the Valero Energy Corp. refinery in Port Arthur, Texas on June 10, 2021.
