Limited Vessel Traffic at Port of Corpus Christi in Preparation for Tropical Storm

by | Sep 13, 2021 | Maritime Law, Offshore accidents

As Tropical Storm Nicholas prepared to make landfall, the United States Coast Guard took the affirmative steps to limit vessel traffic at the Port of Corpus Christi.  It is expected that at the time the storm hits the Texas Coast it will be upgraded to a hurricane.  As a result, out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure the safety of local residents and marine workers, on Monday it was announced that the port would have limited vessel traffic.  Under the limitation, the Port of Corpus Christi is closed to inbound vessels of greater than 500 gross tons.
