Accident Involving 18-wheeler in Orange, Texas – Three Injured

by | Nov 4, 2021 | Auto Accident, Personal Injury

There was an accident involving a semi truck and multiple passenger vehicles in Orange, Texas on October 31, 2021.  The accident occurred on I-10 eastbound.  Reports indicate that a 2018 Freightliner 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle and began skidding.  The truck entered the left lane of traffic and struck a passenger sedan.  A motorcycle also crashed as the rider attempted to avoid the accident.  All three of the involved drivers required medical treatment and were transported to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

There have been a number of recent trucking accidents in Texas and Louisiana, resulting in severe injuries and sometimes death.  There was an accident between an 18-wheeler and a motorcycle in Orange, Texas on September 28, 2021.  There was an 18-wheeler rollover accident in Lorena, Texas on September 28, 2021.  There was a deadly accident when an 18-wheeler struck a bicyclist in Orange, Texas on October 20, 2021.  There was a deadly accident involving two 18-wheelers in Royse City, Texas on October 26, 2021.  There was a deadly accident involving a semi truck in Allen Parish, Louisiana on October 27, 2021.

Safe trucking companies must take adequate precautions to ensure that their drivers do not severely injure or kill members of the public in a trucking accident.  Industry standards require trucking companies to regularly inspect their equipment.  Safe companies must also supervise their driver to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures have been followed.  Drivers must yield to other traffic on the roadway, including when merging lanes.  This is not just common sense, but is actually the law.
