There was a deadly accident involving an ambulance and semi-truck in Hunt County, Texas on November 17, 2021.  The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 69 near Greenville, Texas.  Reports indicate that an 18-wheeler was backing out of a private driveway.  The ambulance was unable to stop before hitting the semi-truck.  The driver of the ambulance was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and a second paramedic was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this accident.

Safe trucking companies must take adequate precautions to ensure that their drivers do not severely injure or kill members of the public in a trucking accident.  Industry standards require trucking companies to regularly inspect their equipment.  Safe companies must also supervise their driver to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures have been followed.  Drivers must yield to other traffic on the roadway, including when re-entering lanes of traffic.  This is not just common sense, but is actually the law.
