Recreational Boat Strikes Jetty near Fort Pierce, Florida

Reports indicate a small recreational boat struck a jetty near Fort Pierce, Florida on December 25, 2021.  According to the Coast Guard, the vessel capsized following the allision.  All five people on board were able to be rescued by a Coast Guard vessel.  It is unknown if anyone involved in the incident sustained injuries.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a boating accident on the Pearl River near Bogalusa, Louisiana on November 29, 2021.  A fire broke out on the bulk carrier ALMIRANTE STORNI on December 4, 2021.  A fire broke out on the general cargo ship AAL DALIAN on December 8, 2021 while the vessel was in Houston, Texas.  There was an outbreak of COVID-19 on the container ship ROME EXPRESS.
