Charter Bus Rollover Crash in Waller County, Texas

by | Apr 30, 2022 | Auto Accident, Personal Injury, Tour Bus Accident

There was a rollover crash involving a charter bus in Waller County, Texas on April 27, 2022.  The crash occurred on Highway 290 near FM 362.  The bus had a total of 21 people on board, and was carrying a team of baseball players and coaches from Tomball-based Spartans Post Grad Academy.  The team was returning from a baseball game against Ranger College.  At least 16 people were injured in the accident which remains under investigation.  It is unclear if another vehicle was involved, or what led to the rollover occurring.

Unfortunately, accidents involving charter busses have become more and more prevalent.  There was a deadly crash involving a charter bus and an 18-wheeler in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana on March 24, 2022.  There was a crash involving a charter bus in Sangamon County, Illinois on March 11, 2022.  Three passengers were injured in a crash involving a charter bus in Lake Nona, Florida on February 24, 2022.

Safety considerations must take precedence to ensure that anyone relying on charter transportation remains safe.  Safe charter companies must consider take necessary precautions to ensure that their busses do not put the lives of passengers at risk.  The risks of catastrophic injury should always be considered by safe vessel operators.  When charter operators fail to account for the known hazards of the industry catastrophic injuries or deaths can result.  Safe companies must hire and train only individuals who can carry out the work without putting at risk the lives of dozens of passengers.  A responsible driver must drive at appropriate speeds based on the weather conditions.  Failing to do so can have catastrophic results.
