There was a deadly accident at a construction site in Floyd County, Georgia on June 14, 2022. According to reports, a crew was performing work on a private driveway when a dump truck crashed into a Bobcat on the worksite. The truck was being loaded with asphalt when its brakes apparently failed. It began moving before striking the Bobcat. Both vehicles continued before falling roughly 50 feet down an embankment. Two workers who were on the Bobcat were killed: John Hunter Lane and Cody Hauser. Two other workers were injured, and one required an emergency airlift to a local hospital for treatment. The construction work was being performed by KGI from Armuchee. The accident remains under investigation.
