During the crash, a biker was traveling northbound on the highway, followed by the 18-wheeler. The biker was attempting to make a left turn onto FM-1086. The biker was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Vernon Russel Barns of Bradshaw, Texas.
