An elevated walkway collapsed in Surfside Beach, Texas on June 8, 2023. At the time, numerous campers from a summer camp run by Bayou City Fellowship were on the walkway. During the incident, at least twenty children are believed to have sustained injuries. Five children were transported via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Another sixteen injured children were taken to local area hospitals. The walkway leads from the beach to a nearby building. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this incident.
