A deadly crash involving a Publix 18-wheeler and a pickup truck left one man dead on Monday, September 11, 2023. The crash occurred just before noon at the intersection of McAshan Road and Old Tuscaloosa Highway in McCalla, Alabama.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at UAB West Hospital. His identity has not yet been released. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
