There was a deadly accident at an oilfield site near Wayne, Oklahoma on September 20, 2023. According to reports, a worker was performing work inside an oil tank. The victim and a co-worker were in the process of installing a gauge on the tank. This required the victim to enter the tank, while his co-worker remained on the outside. There was approximately 12-18 inches of oil product in the tank. It is believed the worker inhaled fumes, before he was pulled out of the tank in an unresponsive state. CPR was performed at the site, before he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Darrell Newton, an employee of C&M Roustabout Company.
