There was an explosion and fire at the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Plant in Decatur, Illinois on September 10, 2023. According to reports, eight employees sustained injuries in the incident, with six people requiring hospitalization. The cause of the explosion is under investigation at this time.
This incident follows an explosion at the plant that occurred on April 20 of this year. During the prior incident, a dust explosion occurred at a grain elevator at the plant.
