There was a construction accident in New Haven, Connecticut on January 17, 2024.  According to reports, workers were renovating a building when they were exposed to carbon monoxide.  Authorities believe the source of the carbon monoxide was a propane-powered saw being used at the scene.  10 workers were hospitalized, as were 4 others who were not part of the work being performed.  The incident highlights the importance of proper ventilation at a work site.

Despite being a vital part of the economy, construction projects often pose severe hazards both to construction workers and to the general public if precautions are not taken.  Each construction project poses its own unique risks and hazards based on the work being done.  Risks that may present themselves during a project must be carefully evaluated before the job begins.
