There was a deadly construction accident in Simpson County, Mississippi on October 16, 2024. According to reports, a bridge collapsed while a group of construction workers prepared it for an upcoming demolition. At the time, seven workers were using heavy equipment on the bridge. The workers fell 40 feet when the collapse occurred. Three workers were killed, and four others seriously injured. The project was being performed by T.L. Wallace Construction.
