by | Mar 16, 2025 | Aviation Accident, Wrongful Death

A private aircraft crashed near Pitt-Greenville Airport in North Carolina on the morning of Friday, March 14, resulting in the deaths of both individuals on board. The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. when the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza went down on the property of a local business. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, but there were no survivors.

The plane had departed from Pitt-Greenville Airport at 7:46 a.m. and was en route to Vero Beach, Florida. Flight tracking data showed that the aircraft began climbing normally before experiencing a sudden and rapid descent just two minutes into the flight. Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are working to determine the cause of the accident, which remains unknown at this time.

Investigators are now in the process of documenting the wreckage and gathering evidence to understand what led to the crash. Factors such as mechanical failure, weather conditions, and possible operational issues will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation. The aircraft will be moved to a secure facility for further analysis in hopes of uncovering what caused the sudden loss of altitude.
