Pilot Dead After Florida Plane Crash

A plane crashed on Monday shortly after takeoff at the North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, Florida.  The plane, a Lancair Legacy, appeared to experience engine trouble as it attempted to take off from a runway at the airport.  The pilot attempted to turn back and land when the crash occurred.  The pilot has been identified as 65-year-old Steven Mitchell Fontenot.
