A tug boat capsized off the northwest coast of British Columbia, Canada on February 11, 2021. The vessel was owned by Wainwright Marine Services and was towing a barge at the time of the incident. One crew member was able to swim to shore, but unfortunately two individuals died in the incident. It is unclear at this time what caused the vessel to capsize.

A recreational boat struck a channel marker on February 2, 2021 in Rankin County, Pennsylvania, resulting in one death. A fire broke out in the engine room of the container ship VERA RAMBOW on February 8, 2021. A crew member on the Russian cargo ship ATLANTIC PROJECT II tragically lost his life on February 9, 2021, during cargo operations.
