NTSB Issues Update on Houston Plane Crash Investigation

by | Oct 23, 2021 | Aviation Accident

Late last week, investigators from the NTSB began their investigation into the October 19, 2021 McDonnell Douglas MD-87 plane crash west of Houston, Texas.  During the crash, the plane failed to takeoff and went off the runway and through a fence at the airport.

The NTSB has announced that the MD-87 plane had not been flown since December 2020.  The agency is currently looking into maintenance records related to the plane.  The agency has also recovered video of the plane from the aborted takeoff which shows smoke coming from one of the plane’s engines.
