Three Dead in Accident Involving Multiple 18-wheelers in Fort Bend County, Texas

by | Nov 10, 2021 | Auto Accident, Wrongful Death

There was a deadly accident involving multiple semi-trucks in Fort Bend County, Texas on November 9, 2021.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Vincik Ehlert Road and FM 360.  Reports indicate that a passenger car, two 18-wheelers, and a box truck were all involved.  One 18-wheeler is believed to have struck the passenger vehicle, before losing control of the vehicle and heading into oncoming traffic and striking the second 18-wheeler.  Both semi trucks caught fire after the crash.  Three people have been pronounced dead as a result of the accident.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this preventable accident.

There have been a number of recent trucking accidents in Texas and Louisiana, resulting in severe injuries and sometimes death.  There was a deadly accident involving a semi truck in Allen Parish, Louisiana on October 27, 2021.  There was an accident involving a semi truck and multiple passenger vehicles in Orange, Texas on October 31, 2021.  An 18-wheeler and a F-150 pickup were in a deadly accident in Iowa, Louisiana on November 6, 2021.

Safe trucking companies must take adequate precautions to ensure that their drivers do not severely injure or kill members of the public in a trucking accident.  Industry standards require trucking companies to regularly inspect their equipment.  Safe companies must also supervise their driver to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures have been followed.  Drivers must yield to other traffic on the roadway, including when merging lanes.  This is not just common sense, but is actually the law.
