There was a deadly plane crash in Jacksonville, Florida on December 26, 2021. The plane, a single-engine Mooney M20J, crashed near the Herlong Recreational Airport in west Jacksonville. The plane had taken off from the airport about twenty minutes to the crash. After crashing, the plan was engulfed in flames. Early reports indicate that while attempting to return to the airport the plane lost control and nosedived, which could be indicative of engine failure. Two people were on board and pronounced dead at the scene. This aviation accident remains under investigation at this time.
