Explosion at Steel Plant near Detroit, Michigan

There was an explosion at a steel plant near Detroit, Michigan on January 19, 2022.  Reports indicate a gas leak occurred in the main plant boiler at the Great Lakes Steel Works in Ecorse, Michigan.  There was an explosion caused by the gas, resulting in injuries to at least two employees at the plant.  The facility is owned by U.S. Steel.

There have been a number of incidents at industrial and chemical plants.  There was a fire at a chemical plant in Passaic, New Jersey on January 14, 2022.  There was an explosion and fire at a chemical plant in Memphis, Tennessee on January 11, 2022.  There was an explosion at the Interplastic Corporation plastics plant in Covington, Kentucky on January 10, 2022.  A massive fire broke out at a plastics plant in Wharton, Texas on January 9, 2022.
