There was a small plane crash near the Dawson/Borden county line in Texas on January 14, 2022. The plane, a Piper PA22 Tri-Pacer, crashed west of Lamesa, Texas. The plane was en route from Addison, Texas to Hobbs, New Mexico when it crashed. Reports indicate the pilot was attempting to refuel at the Lamesa Airport. As he descended, he lost control of the plane resulting in the crash. The pilot was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
