Explosion on Chemical Tanker GULF PETROLEUM 4

There was an explosion on the chemical tanker GULF PETROLEUM 4 on May 6, 2022.  At the time, the vessel was undergoing repairs Turkey.  According to reports, there was an explosion and leak of carbon dioxide on board.  Four or five people are believed to have been poisoned by the gas.  It is unknown at this time what caused the explosion on board the tanker.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a collision between the container ship TROPIC FREEDOM and the cruise ship MARINER OF THE SEAS on April 20, 2022.  There was a deadly explosion on board the chemical tanker NCC SAFA on April 20, 2022.  There was a fire on board the cargo ship KELLY ALAFIA on April 22, 2022.  The Japanese tour boat KAZU 1 capsized on April 23, 2022 with twenty-six people on board.  There was a deadly boating accident in Savannah, Georgia on May 5, 2022.
