Explosion on Tanker Ship TORC

There was an explosion on the tanker ship TORC on August 28, 2022.  At the time, the vessel was in the Marmara Sea, Turkey.  The explosion occurred while welding was being performed during maintenance.  Two crew members were injured and required hospitalization as a result.  The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a collision between the bulk carrier AP REVELIN and an unidentified cargo ship in Port Arthur, Texas on August 21, 2022.  There was a deadly accident involving a recreational boat on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri on August 20, 2022.   A recreational boat caught fire before sinking on the Columbia River in Oregon on August 25, 2022.  A boat exploded in Babylon, New York on August 26, 2022.
