According to reports, a single-engine MXR Technologies MX2 plane crashed near Lake Ashby, Florida about an hour and a half after taking off from the Spruce Creek Fly-In. At the time, the plane was conducting flight training exercises. There were two victims on board: Miroslav Velickovich, the pilot, and Miguel Duarte. The accident remains under investigation.
