There was a small plane crash in Harris County, Texas on September 1, 2022. According to reports, a single-engine fixed-wing Cirrus SR-22 crashed after experiencing a loss of engine power near Hooks Airport. The plane crashed at a mobile home park in Tomball, Texas with three people on board. One of the mobile homes was occupied at the time. The Cirrus plane came from Tennessee, and refueled in Louisiana, before continuing to its destination of Houston, Texas. The plane is registered to its manufacturer, Cirrus Design Corporation. One person was killed, and two people were injured in the crash.
Less than a month ago, another Cirrus SR-22 crashed in Jefferson County, Washington. Witnesses to that crash reported hearing sputtering noises from the engine prior to the crash. The NTSB had previously issued a report regarding the loss of engine power in Cirrus SR22T planes during takeoff.
