Fire on Crude Oil Tanker ALEXIA

There was a fire on the crude oil tanker ship ALEXIA on September 22, 2022.  At the time, the ship was in the Gulf of Finland en route to Turkey.  The fire is believed to have broken out in the cargo load.  Although the fire was extinguished by the vessel’s crew, the vessel is disabled and drifting.  It is unclear if anyone was injured by the fire.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a fire on board the tanker ship SEABORNE PETRO on September 15, 2022.  A worker was killed in an accident at the Port of Tampa Bay in Florida on September 16, 2022.  The general cargo ship SEA EAGLE capsized on September 17, 2022.  A small recreational boat capsized near Slidell, Louisiana on September 18, 2022.  There was a deadly boating crash during a fishing tournament on Lake Chesdin in Virginia on September 17, 2022.  There was a deadly boating accident on Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana on September 22, 2022.  There was a boating accident off the coast of North Carolina on September 22, 2022.  There was a fire on the roll on roll off (ro ro) cargo ship MIDNIGHT SUN on September 22, 2022.
