There was a deadly collision between two recreational boats in Hastings, Minnesota on September 29, 2022. During the incident, a cabin cruiser and a jon boat collided on the Mississippi River near Kings Cove Marina. A man and woman on the small jon boat were ejected into the river. Occupants on the cabin cruiser were able to pull the two people from the water. The two boaters were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital He has been identified as Dallas Larson of Hastings. The female boater remains hospitalized. The crash remains under investigation.
