There was an explosion on the container ship EF AVA on October 24, 2022. At the time, the container ship was off the southwest coast of Iceland, en route to Reykjavik. The explosion occurred in the vessel’s engine room. Crew members on board were able to extinguish the resulting fire. It is unknown if anyone was injured in the incident.
