There was an incident on a platform in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 1, 2022. During the incident, a scaffolder fell off of a platform at Kiewit Offshore Services into La Quinta Channel. The worker did not resurface after going overboard from the platform. The scaffolder was wearing a safety harness and life jacket at the time. The Coast Guard sent a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi as well as a boat to help search for the missing worker. Around 5:30 on Saturday night, divers located the body of the missing worker. The cause of the incident is unknown at this time.
