On November 18, 2022, Seacor Marine evacuated the Lift Boat Robert.  At the time, the vessel was in the Gulf of Mexico southeast of Galveston, Texas.  According to reports, an aerial inspection of the lift boat raised concerns that it was off position on one side.  Due to concerns regarding weather conditions, the lift boat was evacuated.

It was just last year, on April 13, 2021, that the 129 foot lift boat SEACOR POWER capsized south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana.  The boat was about 8 miles south of Port Fourchon at the time of the incident.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a deadly accident on the heavy cargo carrier UHL FORTUNE on November 11, 2022.  There was a recreational boat fire in Destin, Florida on November 12, 2022.  There was an explosion on the offshore support vessel ATHENA on November 17, 2022.  There was a fire on the chemical tanker vessel ATLANTIC LILY on November 18, 2022.
